linuxcaffe to GPL their (awesome) hot chocolate !

that's right folks, we'll be publishing the "source code" so that you, too, may compile, copy, modify and even sell sweet cups of fine hot chocolate goodness. The only requirement is that if you modify the "code", and then release it, you are compelled to release your modifications.

formula to follow..

stable branch v1.04

the stable branch is actually based on a store bought "binary" (the large can of No Frills hot chocolate mix) and adds (3 tbs) cinnamon, (1 tsp) ground ginger, (1 tsp finely ground) nutmeg, and (1/4 tsp) cayenne powder.
dump spices into NFmix, mix, shake, mix, shake
add 2 heaping TBS into 8oz of 3.5% milk, steam with espresso steam wand, garnish with mini-marshmallows and cocoa powder and serve.

development branch v 1.2x

We'll start with roughly the same spices, but a ground-up rebuild of the No Frills "binary" to be replaced with basic cocoa + sugar + thickening agents. This branch is HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL, and not yet recommended for daily consumption. Contributions are welcome.

cardamom

has been suggested and will be added to the testing cue.

nutmeg

instead of using ground nutmeg (which does not dissolve well, and leaves a bit of grit at the bottom of the cup) LCHC v1.2x will require fresh ground nutmeg as optional garnish/ flavouring agent.

fat

an important component in the perfect cup of HC, we will be testing additional milk-fat sources, such as (1 oz) 10% coffee cream and/or whipped cream.

orange zest

is a must !

Chai tea

to follow !

Subversion

the "source code" for the hot chocolate is now in a subversion repository, which will soon be publically available.
