Does hot chocolate really deserve it's own page ?

Depends how cold it is outside !

linuxcaffe makes an exceptional hot chocolate, and it's under constant development. It's not only delicious, but it's Open Source. That means the "code" to create it at home, or even in your own cafe. The only limitation is that if you modify it, and then release (sell) it, you are required to publish your changes. That way the hot chocolate just keeps getting better !

We keep our recipes in a Subversion repository, along side our software development. We're working to make the SVN repository public, but until then, here's the "code"

Take 1 large No Frills hot chocolate mix and add

4 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp finely ground nutmeg
1 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp cayenne powder

mix well.

Combine 1 cup milk (or soy milk), 2 tbsp mix, and (optionally) 1 oz 10% coffee cream. Stir with a fork, then steam with an espresso steam wand (you DO have an espresso machine, right ?) and garnish with mini marshmallows and serve.
